Dear prospective participant of OCC2020PHD,

we are very sorry to inform you that we have to cancel the 19th International Seminar of PhD-Students on Organometallic and Coordination Chemistry!

We have received more than 30 interesting contributions from 5 different countries and thus would be prepared for an outstanding scientific program and stimulating discussions, but the current situation makes the event unpredictable.

In the last days not only the number of coronavirus outbreaks in Austria and Europe in general has increased and in this respect also some countries were installing travel restrictions as well as restrictions for running larger events. We are also aware that some universities, institutions and companies have already installed travel restrictions for their employees and students. Worst case scenario and although we do not expect would be a city lock down in Leibnitz in quarantine procedure (like nearby in Italy), unfortunately which we cannot rule out in the moment.

This uncertainty is problematic for both sides, both for you as participant and for us as organizers. Especially the financial aspects are really worrisome for us as organizers. We kindly ask for your understanding to cancel this event just 1 month in advance and as long as we can do this without larger financial obligations to the facilities in Leibnitz.

We are working on an alternative date (either autumn 2020 or spring 2021) and we will keep you updated about the new time schedule and location. We hope to see you in good health at this replacement event.
